make-it-monday

Trying my hand at another Make it Monday card.   This time Dawn showed us Dry Embossing over Heat Embossing.  I have a lot of the Papertrey Ink Impression Plates and rarely use them….   I whipped out the holly leave ones and decided to use this one

Trying my hand at another sketch from My Favorite Things!   This is sketch #192 and I decided I really wanted to do something with gold and I originally thought I would do a card with bokeh but when I pulled out the Bokeh Builder stamp set I really liked the saying.  I also had this beautiful paper set called Market Street from My Minds Eye!   It was a match made in heaven.  Or at least a match made in my craft room!!!!

Sorry if my picture is a tad bit fuzzy…I took the picture from my ipad, too darn lazy to go get my camera!!!!

Halloween Chalkboard

September 7th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking No Comments »

make-it-monday

I thought for fun I would do another MIM card.   I wanted to use the technique I learned from stamp a faire by using some sticky foam to create my own stamp from a die.    I must really like this technique.

You will have to forgive my use of mist and the moon.  I just wanted to to feel like Halloween!!!   LOL

I used the Papertrey Ink Candy Corn Collage die to make the foam stamp.   It is really easy, just run the die thru your die cut machine using that fun foam you can find at Walmart or Michaels.   I then adhered it to a sticky piece of clear card stock and removed the parts that were not needed.  Then using Papertrey Inks Fresh Snow ink, I stamped it on the chalkboard paper.  To make them look more like candy corn, I used my intense pencils to color in the candy colors.

make-it-monday

I have always watched the Make it Monday series on Papertrey Ink but have never participated.  Coming off the heels of the Stamp-a-Faire challenge (and because it actually forced me to organize and clean my scrap room) I decided to try the challenge.

I am not into school stuff…I only have fur kids, but I have seen cool chalkboards at coffee houses.

Challenge 13 tag

I lived thru the 1980’s and really did not care for it.   It was an awkward time period for me.   I turned 20 in 1980 and tried to fit in someway, somehow.   LOL,  Still struggling with that.

I do remember that my girlfriend had a ski jacket with a rainbow on it.   OH how I wanted that jacket.   Never did get it   Such jealously!!!!  So in honor of that memory and rainbows everywhere, here is my card.

I wanted to make a shaker card with rainbow sequins and I thought the new Glasses Die would be about to do that.

Papertrey had these awesome journaling cards and they actually had one with a rainbow in it.  Pretty awesome!   Rainbow Power!!!!
