Been working hard on trying to get my cards done. Funny thing about this lesson, I loved one style and hated the other.

The paper piecing cards felt so early cardmaking that I felt it was too simple and something that I would not make. I do appreciate there was simple technique and easy to make but just not cup of tea,

However the other cards, the watercolor version just sang to my heart. I loved them.

I actually made 5×7 cards to really see and enjoy the colors. I used the Art Anthology water colors and a metallic watercolor. I wanted the feel of green grasses, blue oceans and golden sunshine.

I really struggled with using a kraft knife. It just does not work for me. However being a avid quilter, the rotaty cutter works wonders.

I used the wonderful Simon Says Stamp word strips. I really wish they would come out with more.

Debby Hughes is an icon to me. Her cards are just gorgeous. I do not think she has ever made a bad card in her life.

This technique crates a beautiful mask image on the card.

I wanted to play up the background so the sentiment and the bee were the same color tones so they did not overpower the background

I am a huge fan of Yana Smakula and her cards. I saw her original card some time ago and thought “Wow this is awesome”. Glad I had the opportunity to try this technique.

Today is using a stamp over a larger piece of paper and cut into two. I decided to use the Simon Says Botanicals. This ended up being taller cards so I could stretch it across both cards.

I ended up embossing the ink floral images because I wanted to color blend the background.

I liked what I planned but the color in the grass did not come out very good but overall I was pleased with the card.

Does it take anyone else 7 hours to make a card. Geez I am slow.

Once again I have decided to take a card class. I have been falling behind in the card making and I was hoping this card class would inspire me to get into the mood and start cranking out card.

The first day of class is with Jennifer McGuire and faux embossing. I have not tried this technique before. Although I appreciate learning a new technique I really do not like it. Sorry. It looks kinda thick. But I do like the bunnies I used.

I love doing a puzzle every Christmas with a good holiday theme. I usually like the puzzles from Hallmark. This one is super easy to do and I had no issues. And I actually did not lose a single piece.

So I recently embraced the store Aldi. The first time I went, I just did not get it. It does not have the normal stuff and has some off brand foods. But I recently learned to enjoy it. I check out the ads. Shopped for some cool stuff.

One of things I recently got was the 7 days of wine, sparkling wine to be more precise. From Dec 25th to Dec 31st you have a different sparkling wine. Of course my Aldi’s was out but my sister found me one at her store.

So for Christmas, I had the Belletti Prosecco wine. Soft and fruity peach and pear notes, with breezy apple peel and lemon zest. Pairs well with seafood, chicken, pasta with cream sauce, spicy Asian dishes, mild cheeses, as an apertif, or simply on its own.

For December 26th was a wonderful sparkling wine called Gourmandises Demi-Sec Sparkling Pinot Noir ICE. It was fruity and bubbly and a fun drink.

For December 27 I had the  Paluzzi Moscato d’ Asti which offers a sweet balance of bright citrus fruits with luscious apricot and peach flavors. Serve as an aperitif, with dessert, or simply enjoy with friends on its own. SALUTE!

We have hit the half way mark. So for December 28th I had the Belletti Sparkling Rose. Refreshing, crisp sparkler boasts notes of lilacs, strawberry and raspberry with a fruit forward structure.

For December 29th, There was another Ice drink. Gourmandises Demi-Sec Sparkling Chardonnay ICE was very nice however it was not as nice as the other Gourmandises.

December 30th was the Francois Fouché Brut Rosé

And finally, for New Years Eve was the heretat el padruell cava brut. A great finish for a count down.

All of this pairs nicely with the Aldi Christmas themed cheeses. I am a sucker for a themed cheese and Aldi is the best at it.

I am a bit late adding in this Christmas/New Years post but I was having trouble uploading pictures from my phone. My sister (the same one who got my the Aldi Wine countdown) told me abou this little USB stick that will move my photos. And it worked! Yeah!

All my friends know I love Halloween, but they also know it takes me forever to make a card from a kit. What is a year to me….. Halloween will still stroll around.

Whenever I get a kit I try to make at least 5 cards. This time I made 13…. unlucky 13….. LOL

It is time for another sketch challenge. For this challenge I got out those cute little squirrels. To think, I almost did not order them.

I am not sure if I am just channeling Autumn in early or just loving the whole squirrel thing. But the oranges, brown and dark creams just get me all excited.
