This year my sister joined me as we stamped our hearts out and drank Champagne.   The schedule is brutal and I always think I will be able to do it, around half way thru I start to panic.  At least this year I ordered the kit.  SMART move on my behalf.  A must if you want to get thru this!!!   LOL

So to make it more special, I created a banner and special tote bags!!!!  AWESOME!!!!!

This was the final card I made!  This one I like.   The Creative Elixer (champage) was working well that night.   LOL

although it was hard to see, I kiss stamped some images.  But I think with the dark colors it is hard to see.

When-you-love

I took a matching Bazzill cardstock set that was on sale, sorry no colors were listed and used those Paper Smooches stamps that have been begging to be used from my stamp stash.   I used some ZING embossing powder, jewels and some glitter pens.   After I made the opening, I found that the stamp set from Papertrey called Meadow Green Stamp Set fit perfectly into the opening.   https://www.papertreyink.com/stamps/meadow-greens-stamp-set/

Thanks for looking, I appreciate the comments and LOVE!!!

I made this one late at night….

I had too much champagne…

I forced myself to keep going even though I did not like it…

I blame the champagne…..   Sometimes it is the Creative Elixer…..sometimes is just booze!!!   This time is was booze!  LOL

This was on day 6 of more outline stamps.   So I stamped a cat and used watercolors to create the grey tabby look.

The paper and embellishments was from Michaels {Recollections)

I used zebra striped jewels to look like spiders.   they look like blobs of glass with black marks on it.   ok, I think you get that I dont like this card.   But I do like the paper.

The stamp set was from Michaels, I think the Hampton Art ones they sell.  Not sure….don’t care.   LOL

Thanks for Everything – Stretch Your Stamps 2 Online Card Class

August 21st, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts, Online Card Class | 1 Comment »

I am always taking the online card class from the very talented Jennifer McGuire/Kristina Werner and friends.  This month I took the Stretch Your Stamps 2 Class.

The premise of this class is to take one of your stamp sets and do different type of cards and techniques to really stretch your thinking!  I learned some new things which is awesome.  Hope you enjoy my cards!

My first card was  inspired from Day 7 and Julie Ebersole.  She always get me laughing!  She is contagious!

I was in the mood for those old 1970 kitchen colors of barfy brown, avocado Green, harvest gold and zesty ORANGE…what were they thinking, I hated it in the 70’s but now, not so much, today it feels retro.  LOL

Thanks-for-Everything

Since I made my cards at my sisters house, I really did not keep track of the supplies I was using.  Please forgive me.  But I think the 2 people who look at my blog (bless both of you) will forgive me.

I also used the awesome stamps from Papertrey ink called Wet Paint Stamp Set

https://www.papertreyink.com/stamps/wet-paint-stamp-set/

I also used some old American Craft woodgrain stamp set and misc Sequins.  There were some other ink pads but I just grabbed from a pile of inky goodness.  Sorry!!!!

A Look of Love

Penny Love copy

I recently adopted a new dog to keep Olive company so when I finally go back to work, she will have company.  It has been rocky.  Penny is a chewer.  Penny is not confident on where to go potty!  Penny chases the cats.   But Penny loves me.  When I am lying in bed, she will put her paw on my arm.  Sometimes I catch her looking at me.  With love in her eyes.  I think she likes me!!!!

Adopt!  Your next best friend is at the nearest shelter or rescue group!

I Love Hardware Stores! Great Find

August 8th, 2014 klwade Posted in Shopping Finds | No Comments »

I love going to hardware stores, small ones with personality.  Two of my favorties are Orchard Supply Hardware (aka OSH) and the Do It Center.   I dont really care about nails and tools, I love finding cute stuff that these small hardware stores sell. I dont know how many times I have found cute tins with gardening designs, wire crates to hold plants, pastel colored watering cans and other fun things.

I went to the Do-It Center in La Crescenta, CA and found adorable enamelware vintage inspired kitchen wares.

LOVE IT!!!!

I love enamel ware….beautiful pieces with slick enamel coating!!!  I Love vintage stuff.  So when I saw these kitchen items I was in heaven.

Typhoon Enamelware Kitchen Cans

They have several colors but I liked the cream color.  There was a red color, a blue color and black!

The Biscuit can has labels that you can add, such as Oats, Sugar, cookies, etc.

But what is REALLY cool about these canisters is that the inside is a MINT green.  Oh kitchenware Heaven!!!!!

So when I got home I checked out the company that makes these… Typhoon…. and guess what?  It is a company in the UK and good luck finding them in America.!!!!  YES, Thank you Do-It Center.  Guess I have to go back and get the canisters and the kitchen scale.  and the Oh so CUTE cake tin.

So next time they Hubby or Boyfriend wants to go to the Hardware store…check it out, you might find something you LOVE!!!

My Watercolor Book

May 4th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts | 1 Comment »

In preparation for the newest Online Card Class – Watercolor for Cardmakers, we were challengered to create a portfolio of all our watercolors.  In the video Kristina kept the watercolors in the watercolor cases, I am not that kind of person.  I decided to create a small book to have all the colors at my finger tips.   I had a couple extra Tim Holtz worn covers and thought it would be perfect for the portfolio.  The nice thing about the sleeves is that there is a small space on the edge to slide a piece of paper inside, which is just perfect for putting the name of the watercolor kit!!!!

So instead of using my Tim Holtz watercolor paper, I used a pad I got on sale at Michaels and cut them to the size that would fit into the book.

I am still adding sheets into the book, but wanted to share my book before the class started!!  Thanks for looking

Card Sketch #170

Ok,  thought I would do another card for the card sketch challenge.   I love nautical stuff and when My Favorite Things came out with the adorable Nautical Fishnet Coverall and the Go Overboard Stamp set and dies  knew I had to have it!!!!

Here is the sketch

MFTWSC170

I took liberty on the interpretation of the sketch.  Instead of the square middle panel, I used the Porthole and the Compass.    Instead of the two banner to the left I did a sentiment that was 2 lines and added small red tabs on the side.   It is a little hard to see in the photo, but in the porthole screws holes (or what ever they are called) I added those Starform glitter dots in ruby and gold.  I Love those stickers.  They add just a little bit of sparkle and pizzazz to the card.

Please feel free to leave comments.  I love comments and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling!!!!
