Simon Says Challenge Blog

So I have recently become addicted to Simon Says Stamp and their blog entries…

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

I checked out the Challenge Blog and the challenge was ANYTHING GOES.  Which basically means, anything, absolutely anything.  I can relate to that.   I was going to make a card and then thought, maybe I can do something different.

Since I was getting ready to go back to work (after a very nice 6 month rest) I thought  what would better than a “Back to Work” item.

I made a test tube holder and added some workplace essentials.   Paperclips…..cute magnets from Target….and of course M&M’s.   What a better way to start off a new job.

Because I am cleaning out my scrap room I wanted to use products on hand.  Some may not be out there anymore, but almost any paper you have on hand would work.

It is that time of year!!!!  My sister Janice and I got together at my house to make our Christmas Cookies.  Since this Christmas I am not working, I wont be giving cookies to my co-workers, but instead I am thinking of giving cookies to The Cat Doctor staff and the local Fire Department.  Hope they appreciate it.

This year we made the following cookies

  • Praline Pecan Fudge
  • Traditional Fudge
  • Peanut Blossom Cookies
  • Peanut Brittle
  • Pecan Bars
  • Turtle Cookies
  • Snowball Cookies
  • Pecan Nougat Cookies
  • Butterscotch Squares

Since it was a rainy Weekend we could not make the Meringues or Southern Pralines!!!

February 5th, 2012 klwade Posted in Babbling and Observations, Digital Creations | No Comments »

I love to take new classes, Do I finish Anything???  No, but that is not the point.  I always try to take classes from Cathy Zieskle because her style is so clean, so fresh.  And dang, she has the best use of fonts out there.  Big Picture Scrapbooking has a class by her called “10 Tips for Better Type”  After the first 45 minutes video I am inspired to try to play with fonts.  Thanks Cathy!!!  Fonts to You!

Howdy!

I decided to make my Block of the Month with October Afternoon Farm Fresh Fabrics.

For anyone who knows me…I love pictures of fruit, veggies  country plaids and animals.  This fabric has it all.  I decided for the solid background to go for Kona Fabric “Mocha”.  A nice milk chocolate brown that will bring out the accents of the fabric.  Started the first blocks…..can’t hardly wait!!!!

You know the old story that your hair dresser knows it all….well I guess she does. I told her that I admired her funky furniture and she said she got it cheap from Craigs List. Since I wanted a new entry hall sideboard table we checked it out. Nice stuff, great price…. I have to keep my eye out for great deals…..some great examples of the fun stuff out there….. not quite perfect, but keeping my eye out for the good stuff!!!
