I am a huge fan of Yana Smakula and her cards. I saw her original card some time ago and thought “Wow this is awesome”. Glad I had the opportunity to try this technique.
I love Honey Bee Stamps and I have been holding onto these sets for a while. Glad I was able to use it Hard to see but there is glitter on her scalesInside the mermaid cardJust a little messageLeft inside blank so it can be used for anything
Today is using a stamp over a larger piece of paper and cut into two. I decided to use the Simon Says Botanicals. This ended up being taller cards so I could stretch it across both cards.
I ended up embossing the ink floral images because I wanted to color blend the background.
I liked what I planned but the color in the grass did not come out very good but overall I was pleased with the card.
Does it take anyone else 7 hours to make a card. Geez I am slow.
Once again I have decided to take a card class. I have been falling behind in the card making and I was hoping this card class would inspire me to get into the mood and start cranking out card.
The first day of class is with Jennifer McGuire and faux embossing. I have not tried this technique before. Although I appreciate learning a new technique I really do not like it. Sorry. It looks kinda thick. But I do like the bunnies I used.
Deboss and Emboss cardsI even added a little surpise inside the card.
All my friends know I love Halloween, but they also know it takes me forever to make a card from a kit. What is a year to me….. Halloween will still stroll around.
Whenever I get a kit I try to make at least 5 cards. This time I made 13…. unlucky 13….. LOL
Just a little movie of the cards. I did this video to share the cards with my sister since I did not want to send 13 imagines.
I enjoyed making the cards and I do have my favorite.
It is time for another sketch challenge. For this challenge I got out those cute little squirrels. To think, I almost did not order them.
I am not sure if I am just channeling Autumn in early or just loving the whole squirrel thing. But the oranges, brown and dark creams just get me all excited.
I have been working so late everyday it has been hard to get the cards done. But I did not want to lose the opportunity to win an awesome prize from My Favorite Things.
Well here we go.
For the first card is the Inlaid Made Easy. I had an idea to do a stripe pattern with paper and do the WISH die in the middle. The only problem I had was finding thin enough paper that coordinates.
The Next card was a masking card with a background stamp. I decided to do a deep navy with gold embossing masking the middle for the sentiment. Very simple, yet beautiful
Next is my Favorite…. The background is a bunch of jellyfish embossed with Fairy Dust Embossing Powder and smeared with glitter. Then of course the mermaid swimming by.
This ia a purple beauty. Nothing like purple to wish someone a birthday.
And Finally is the monochromatic card. I went with a simple monochromatic background with the cirle frame. Add a cute birthday bear and we are all set.
Decided to take another shot at the MFT sketch Challenge since I just received my order in the mail.
I ordered the cute little squirrels. Anyone who knows me, knows I just love squirells. To some, they are furry rats, but to me that are cute whimsical critters with cute personalities. I once had a squirrel who lived in my backyard. I called him Mr. Beeve. He wasnt afraid of me and would sit on the edge of the bird feeder when I filled it with sunflower seeds. I was so tempted to touch him but decided to respect him. He use to have a partner and the two of them would chatter and chatter away. But sadly his girlfriend was killed by a car. So it was just me and Mr. Beeve for a long time.
The sketch this week looked easy but darn it, I did not have those great dies.
Maybe if I win, I can order them. So I made do with an older Blueprint set that had a half circle.
I had fun coloring these little guys while watching Season 4 of Outlander.
Inside is a cute little message. I never have enough birthday cards and I always forget to mail the cards out.
I decided to add this to the Simon Says Challenge since I am using a die cut.
