I have been trying to make cards again and I need something to get me into the mood. Looking at the weekly sketches gives me ideas to take out those stamps, dies and copics.
This week the sketch is a simple one.
I decided to go thru my MFT stash and see what image would work great with this layout.
I selected this very cute set called Polynesian Paradise.
To compliment the set I used the Echo Park “Best Summer Ever” paperpack.
Posted on MFT Sketch Challenge and simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge.
I did it. I made all 5 cards and posted them on the website.
Here are my cards! Lets keep our fingers crossed I win a nice prize.
Coffee cards with watercolor basesResist Watercolor with Glimmer PowderShaker card with Christmas ThemeCute Halloween Slider over a haunted townSweet Glitter Hello on an autumn themed card
I struggled making this card. It took 3 tries to finally get a card. I orginally used the A2 shaker pouches but it would not stick to the paper. Maybe if I had enough time to get it dry.
There is nothing more disheartening than having glitter spill all over the place. Ugh.
This picture dcoes not do it justice. The background is a wonderful pine green with a smattering of Tonic Nuvo glitter from the Merry & Bright collection.
When the outdoors gets too hot to hang outside and enjoy the day, you know it is summer. And when it is summer it is time for the MFT Summer camp card challenge.
This year is no different than the prior years. Great themes, great cards and a great challenge.
For Day 1 it is wonderful watercolor. There are so many options here as watercoloring is such a rich medium.
I decide to do some simple watercoloring to create cute coffee drinks.
To make the froth on the top of the drink I used the Brutus Monroe Marshmellow Puff embossing powder to make the whip cream look puffy and yummy.
The inside of the card is a gift card holder for your favorite coffee place. I am thinking Starbucks, cuz there is one on every corner.
I used my Prima Confections watercolors to make the coffee swirls. I made a mocha, a green tea and a pink specialty drink.
On the whip cream I used Brutus Monroe Marshmellow Puff embossing powder.
For the last few years I have made my Christmas Cards instead of buying them. Not sure what prompted that change. Maybe I had more time, maybe I could not find cards I like, maybe I am just plum crazy.
Tell-Tale signs of cards to come.
This year I snagged the card design from Cathy Z using Honey Bee Stamps. I also did my cards last year from Honey Bee Stamps.
Tray after tray of snowman cards!
Although these cards were easy to make I had to glue a million little letters and pieces together.
Of course I was late mailing my cards again. Like every year!
Some of the Snowman Styles
I decided this year to decorate the envelopes as well. I used my new Maltese Return Address Stamp on the card. It looks like Ms. Olive.
For the inside of the card I used a Tim Holtz Christmas Stamp that I had found in my stash. Thought it would work perfectly.
And then on the back I have my Handmade by ShinyTinFoil.com stamp. I just ordered it on Etsy and the dear woman mailed it within one day. It is adorable and I will have to order one with my name versus my brand.
And the final piece is the envelope. The bunnies come from the same Stamp Set.
However the thrill of it all, is that once I posted it on Instagram, Honey Bee Stamps reposted it. I received over 600 likes and got some new followers on Instagram! Yahoo!

I mailed off the stamps and the some peeps let me know they got theirs. No returns in the mail (as of yet).
My sweet cat Beau died in July. He had been very ill with diabetes. I had been fighting his illness for a few months and every vet visit the news was a just not want I wanted. He continued to lose weight, or his levels would rise. Seems like it was never going to stabalize. Then he kept stumbling when he was walking like his was on slippery ice.
Finally he got to a point where I knew it was time. As heartbreaking as it was, I knew it was the right thing. What was so sad is that I lost his brother about two years before from cancer. Owning animals will be eventual heartbreak. But we all know that and do it anyways.
I usually struggle to find a vet for my animals that I completely respect and know in my heart that they are the best at what they do, however I hit the jackpot my my vet at The Cat Doctor.
Dr. Tracy is an awesome vet who does everything to help my animals. She especially loved Beau as she told me once that he always gave her love and kisses. She said most cats are so scared that they do not do that but my Beau always knew he had a friend in Dr. Tracy. When he was in the hospital she would sit with him while eating her lunch!
The day I put Beau down, Dr. Tracy was out of town and the very sweet Dr. Melissa helped me with his passing.
However I wanted to make sure Dr. Tracy knew that we loved her and that sweet beau wanted to say thanks.
So I made her this little card to tell her how much I appreciated everything she did.
