Papertrey Ink Anniversary – Building Blocks of Design

February 13th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

Dawn-Sketches

So for todays challenge, we had to go to each of the designers, roll the dice to determine our numbers (1-6) and see what you get

For my cards I got

Color Selection #1 Harvest Gold

Color Se;ection #2 Razberry Fizz

Color Selection #3 Melon Berry

Neutral Selection True Black

Occassion Selection Thank you

Technique Selection Watercolor

Embelishment Selection Button

Fiber Selection Embriodery Floss

Sketch Selection was #4 (see above)

Many-thanks-card

So I used the melon berry on the top and used a Impression Obession Cover-all stamp FIZZ to give it some texture. I used the confetti garland die to cut out the Harvest Gold and used the matching stamp set to stamp it with back.  Since I did not have any embroidery floss that matched, I dyed white floss with the melon berry stamp pad!  I ran the floss thru 3 true black Papertery Ink buttons along the garland.   I stamped a Thank You with the papertrey Ink Think Big Favorites #19 Stamp and watercolored the image with Anna Griffin water color markers.  Using a spellbinder circle and scallop circle die I was able to cut out the circle and framed it.

Enjoy

Papertrey Ink Anniversary – Polaroid Kids

OK, I really struggled to do this…. my creativity was a little off today.   It took me all day to make two cards.   But I guess that happens to all of us at one time or another.  So I reached into my box of papertrey ink dies and pulled out the Framed Out Die #12.  It reminded me of a little polaroid.  So I took some striped paper and paper that looked like frames and made the card.  However I needed something to put in the frames.  I remembered that some of my October Afternoon paper had some little kids, so here they are!!!

From my stash was some flowers from K&Co. and added to the top of the stripes.  Wha-LA!!! Done!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary – Making Plaid

February 12th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

Anniversary-blog-header

Todays challenge is using stripes.  I thought I would take a twist and make plaid from a single stripe stamp (Mama Elephant stripe set)  So I am channeling my inner Laura Bassen.   Laura loves to make plaid using a single stripe.   I had always wanted to try this so I became Laura and stamped away….OK not the best Laura because there were mistakes.  But I am sure the first time she also made errors.   I used Papertrey Ink colors Scarlet Jewel, Pure Poppy,  Summer Sunrise, Limeaid, New Leaf.  I also used the Love die from the Papertrey Ink One Liner Die set.
