Papertrey Ink Anniversary – Together

Todays challenge  is making a word the focal point of the card.   I have the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Together Die.   I am still loving the paperpack I just bought and really liked the gold and cream paper but was not sure how to use it, that is until today.   I just watch a video reminding people that you can emboss an entire die cut.  Hmmm, I have embossing powder and this awesome “Together” die cut.  Whah-La!!!! Magic!  Now what goes with gold….hmmmmm, romance, champagne!   Oh yes, I have that awesome champagne die from My Favorite Things.   I cut the glasses from vellum and white cardstock and used some light gold shimmer paper from the Paper Source for the liquid.  To make additional bubbles I used the Starform glitter stickers.   I LOVE these stickers  They add just a little extra something to cards, and for a mere $2.00 I get hundreds of round stickers of many tiny sizes.    They have many colors, this one is the transparent glitter with gold.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary – Birthday Balloons

February 9th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

Anniversary-blog-header

So I had two card ideas for Birthday, the Hap-PEA Birthday, and making a shaker card with balloons.     This was the first shaker card I ever made.   and I learned a lot about what to do first, last, glue, etc.   I thought I had it set in my mind what to do in what order but I learned a few things and how to redo things over again.   I also learned that wet glue is too tricky for this process!!!!   But I learned, and I like the card, even though there were mistakes made.

birthday-balloon

To start with I made a card front with the three balloons from the Papertrey Ink Balloon Dash die set and the BirthdayTrio die set.   After that I used post it notes (the new ones that are for labels that are sticky all over the back) to cut balloons to mask the balloons.  Then removing the one mask, I used distress ink to color the area where the balloon will be.  I used Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn.   Once all the balloon areas were inked, I then used copic markers to make the color banner for the bottom.  I used the following markers

Y04, Y13, G09, G14, B05, B21

I then used the die cut of the word birthday and put it back into the paper and lined up the inside of the a, d and space before the y.    Next time I do this, I will just add it to the acetate.   Then I put the balloon masks back on the card and built a foam tape wall around each balloon.  I used 2 layers of foam tape to make it large enough for  the sequins.   Once I was done with that, I cut a piece of acetate and added to the card front with the die cuts holes.   This is where I made a big mistake, I put foam tape to the bottom of the card below the words.  When I tried to put the acetate on, it would not lay down, I should have put the acetate on first.   Then I glued the acetate down on the card.   Another mistake,  the glue oozed all over and seeped into the acetate, then it got on the front and got all icky.  BIG mistake.   So I decided to cut another front but because I had did the back already I wanted it lined up so I used the front as a guide.   Well I got glue all over the die, and everything else.   Ok, I cleaned everything up and cut it out again.  The die was not perfect and you can see the words are a bit off and the spaces are off.  But at this point, I was just so tired of this and the deadline was looming.  So my card is not perfect

Once I did it again and cut the acetate on first and used a dry tape to glue it together it worked better.   I got some really cool sequins from Studio Calico that had two shades of sequins per pack.  I filled the balloons and put the top on.  Perfect!!

I took some plain bakers twine and colored it it the copics and tied it onto the balloon bottoms and finished the card.

I like it a lot and I learned a lot.   NO GLUE….LOL

I hope you enjoy it and please leave some comment love!!!!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary – Hap PEA Birthday

Anniversary-blog-header

Todays Challenge is Happy Birthday!!!!!  Since I was really enjoying the vegetables yesterday (PTI Vegetable Garden), I thought I would do a play on words called HAP PEA Birthday!!!!  I stamped the pea with the two green shades of Simon Says Ink and then used glossy accents to make it shine.  Then I ran to new scrapbook store to buy new and exciting things.   Not that has anything to do with the card, but I wanted to check out the new goods.   And they had what I was looking for!!!!   LOL.   Excuses excuses.

I tried one of papertrey inks impression plates (Rustic Burlap).   Since I have a new Vagabond I was puzzled  on how to do the sandwich.  I searched and searched the internet and saw horror stories about how people ruined their Vagabond.   TERROR in my heart…. So I winged it.  Here is my sandwich for the vagabond –

Bottom to Top

Solo Platform
Solo Shim
Cardstock
Impression Plate (Print I wanted downside to the cardstock)
Sizzix Texurz Silicone Rubber*
Sizzix Texturz Impression Pad*
One cover Plate

It fit in my Vagabond keys just perfect so I knew I would not ruin the machine.  It came out great!!!   *Just bought at the scrapbook store….see I was able to tie in my scrapbook run into this post!!!!  LOL

I used the Papertrey Ink Birthday Trio Die set for the Birthday and used the Lawn Fawn diecuts for the HAP.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary ATC – Always and Forever!

I kept loooking at the Papertrey Ink stamp set called Happy Hydragea, but was not sure what to do with it.  Then I remembered some time ago Nicole Heady did a card using Perfect Pearls.   Now I have had these pearls for a long time, still in the package untouched.  Sigh!!!!  Welcome to my world!   So I thought, why not?  If it does not work, I do not need to post it.    At Michaels I had also gotten this gold shimmer white paper.  I thought with the Perfect Pearls and the gold glimmer paper would look really nice.  Oh Boy!  I found a new love!!!   Me and Perfect Pearls….waltzing across the floor.    It was so easy and looks soooooo pretty!!!!!   But please ignore the statch on the side…. and looking at the photo it looks like some of the dust did not come off…..Hey what do you want???  Perfection????   LOL, ok, I am human, I make mistakes.   But I like it anyways.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary ATC – Chalkboard

February 8th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

Anniversary-blog-header

So I was inspired by a fellow scrapper that made around 10 ATC cards.  WTF!!!  Alright, I will make more.   At Michaels I found this really unusual paper called Chalkboard.  It is a strange texture, sorta rough, deep black.  Not sure if you are suppose to use real chalk on it or not.   Your guess is as good as mine.

So I grabbed my Movers and Shakers Sentiments because they had a sort-of chalkboard look to them… You know, different fonts in a cool way and embossed it with white powder from Hero Arts.   To decorate the rest of the card, I used the really awesome washi tape from My Minds Eye called Chalk Studio.  I have been itching to use them….. I just needed an excuse!!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary ATC – Garden Fresh

February 8th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

Anniversary-blog-header

For my second ATC, I really wanted to use Vegetable Garden Stamp Set.   I have this thing about pictures of vegetable.  I dont eat them as much as I should, but give me a picture of them and I am thrilled!!!!  Also fruit, fruit and veggies!!!!!

vegatable ARC

For the background I cut up a postcard from the Cavallini Set called Farmers Market.  I got them from Amazon.  Besides pictures of fruit and veggies, I love Amazon!!!  LOL.

I used the same wood paper from the DCWV Vintage Collector paper pack and used the Papertrey Ink Picket Fence die.  I needed something to block off the bottom half of the ATC so you could see the vegetables better.    I used foam tape on the wood slats to give it more of a fence look.   Then of course I made a few vegetables from the stamp and die set.   I used a variety of inks from Simon Says Stamps and Hero Arts.  I embossed the round label with clear embossing powder to help “Pop” out the label.

I really like this one!!!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary ATC – Warm Friends

February 8th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

Anniversary-blog-header

So todays challenge on Papertrey Ink is Artist Trading Cards!  At least I did not have the pressure of getting something done in 17 minutes!  Whew!!!!

For this ATC I decided to use the Papertrey Ink Come All Ye Faithful die set.   I really liked the dog dies and decided this would be perfect.

Because I ran to Michaels today and they had a sale on paper pads, I bought one I have had my eye on for a while – Die Cuts with a View Vintage Collector.  It had some fun prints, so I decided to use the wood print for the dog and the pink newspaper for the background.  Throw on a little coat and some bling and I was done!  Woof Woof!!!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary – 17 Minute Card #2

February 7th, 2014 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts 1 Comment »

Anniversary-blog-header

Since these cards take 17 minutes or less I thought I would “whip” up another one……big mistake…..I am still peeling glue from my fingers.   LOL

I wanted to make a valentines card, so I grabbed some cardstock and papertrey stamps/dies….  That was the easy part….

Kissing-Booth

So you do not think I cheated and used more supplies than required, I thought it would be great to use the heart paper from the Kissing Booth Collection from Basic Grey.

Supplies I sued:

1) Brown Woodgrain paper by Ellen Hutson
2) Papertrey Ink Cover Plate Hearts Die
3) Kissing Booth Paper by Basic Grey
4) Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Love Die
5) Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Love Mini Stamp Set (used the word True)
6) Glitter Foam from Walmart (great price for a whole stack of glitter foam)
7) Simon Says Stamp Black Ink

Now I spent 15 minutes glueing the hearts as fast as I could onto the back of the die cut paper…..PLEEEAAASSSSEEEEE do not look too closely at the card as you will see glue stuck here and there and the paper is not aligned.   LOL.   This is not the card to do in 17 minutes!   PRESSURE!!!!!!!

But I really like the card, in spite of all the glue and boo-boos.   HA!!!!

true-love
